Remembrances for All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day- By tradition, All Saints’ Day, November, 1, is a celebration of all who have led saintly lives and our being joined to them as members of all the saints of God. The next day, is All Souls’ Day- also known as the Feast of All Souls, or as the Commemoration of All Faithful Departed. It is more commonly celebrated as a day to remember loved ones who have died.
Our Sunday service at St. Timothy’s on November 1st will combine both ways of observing these two Feasts. We will celebrate our place as members of the “Church Militant,” even as we pause to remember loved ones who have taken their place in the “Church Triumphant.” The names of those provided to the church office will be included with a remembrance insert that will be placed upon the altar on All Saints’ Sunday. Please return the enclosed form to the office by October 31.
