Come and See!

ALOHA! We are continuing our journey through the season of Epiphany — the season of light, of revealing, of seeing God made known in the ordinary moments of life. In John’s Gospel we’ll hear about two curious disciples who begin following Jesus, unsure exactly what they’re looking for. Jesus simply says to them, “Come and see!” It’s a gentle invitation to relationship — to abiding with the One who brings hope, healing, and purpose. God still meets us in the ordinary hours of our days, and invites us to dwell more deeply in Christ’s presence. Let’s accept that invitation!
THIS SUNDAY, the Second Sunday after the Epiphany, we’ll look into that story in John 1:29-42. We’ll explore how an ordinary hour — “about four in the afternoon” — became the moment everything changed for those first disciples, and how God still enters our everyday times. Come and see how Epiphany teaches us to abide, to listen, and to let Christ’s light find us where we are, so that we too may follow him. Please join us this Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Chapel, or on Facebook Live.
THIS SUNDAY we’ll also have a special Adult Formation Class following up on our wonderful Advent series, “Sharing Your Spiritual Journey” led by Rev. David Ota with Rev. Karen Swanson. If you were unable to share your journey with us, please plan to do so. We look forward to seeing you in the Vicar’s Office after our worship service!
COMING NEXT SUNDAY, JANUARY 25: Our Annual Meeting will be held in Sumida Hall following the 9 a.m. worship service. Sandwiches, chips, and refreshments will be provided. Please plan to participate! We will be electing Bishop’s Committee members and Diocesan Convention delegates, approving new bylaws, and answering your questions. The printed Annual Meeting Report will be available this Sunday, January 18—please read it carefully ahead of time and bring your questions!
Dear sisters and brothers, you are in my prayers, and I ask for your continuing prayers for St. Timothy’s Church, for our dedicated staff and devoted lay leaders and ministers, for your fellow members, and for your vicar. May God bless you and your loved ones always.

Aloha Ke Akua!
Fr. Pete+
