How’s your soul doing these days?

Aloha! Last Sunday we celebrated Trinity Sunday, the day the Church sets aside to consider the theological concept of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Together we explored the scriptures assigned for this special Sunday and discovered that when we have full brains, full hearts, and full hands, God the Father calls us to share, to give, to serve as we follow Jesus the Son in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Last Sunday was also Father’s Day, and we celebrated our dads with a yummy hot dog feast with all the trimmings! Thanks to Shannon Casey for organizing this celebration, and to all who helped plan, prepare, serve, and clean up! It was great fun—and delicious.
This Sunday, June 22, is another special day in the life of St. Timothy’s. We begin the season of Pentecost, also called Ordinary Time, and our liturgical color changes to green. During the service we will install four new members of the Kaikamahine-Aloha Chapter of the Daughters of the King: Teruko Greene, Valerie Krutsinger, Grace Madeiros, and Liz Napier. And we will welcome Jean Smith to our chapter, transferring from Canada. Please come be a part of this blessing. For more information about the Daughters of the King, visit their page on our church website here:

This Sunday in the sermon we’ll dig into Psalm 42 and Luke 8:26-39 and ask, “How’s your soul doing these days?” The psalmist says, “As the deer longs for the water-brooks, so longs my soul for you, O God.” Do you ever sense that longing for God? We’ll consider the spiritually instinctual sense of thirsting for God—how that works, what it means, what we should do with it.
So please join us on Sunday morning at 9 in the Chapel, or worship with us on Facebook Live!

On Saturday, June 21, we will celebrate the life of June Takafuji,
sister of Dr. Ernie Takafuji, at 10 a.m. here at St. Timothy’s. You are invited to participate. We are grateful for the manifold ways the Takafuji family has blessed this church over the years.
This Saturday is also the 11th anniversary of my ordination as a priest in The Episcopal Church. And how blessed I am to fulfill this calling here at St. Timothy’s!
Dear sisters and brothers, you are in my prayers, and I ask for your prayers for St. Timothy’s Church, for our dedicated staff and devoted lay leaders and ministers, and for your vicar. May God bless you and your loved ones always.

Aloha Ke Akua!
Fr. Pete+
