The Order of the Daughters of the King EpiscopalDiocese of Hawaii Kaikamahine-Aloha Chapter St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Aiea
As part of The Order of the Daughters of the King, nationwide and worldwide, the Kaikamahine-Aloha Chapter at St. Timothy's works diligently with Daughters of the King, Diocese of Hawaii, to live out the mission of The Order to extend Christ's Kingdom through Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We are ten Daughters strong at St. Tim's and hoping to add to our number by the end of this summer 2023, having invited prospective Daughters to join a Discernment Class being offered to women in all dioceses of Province VIII by the Diocese of Los Angeles. The Daughters at St. Timothy's are all active within the church itself, working with Bishop's Committee, Altar Guild, Lay Eucharistic Ministry, Lectors, Acolytes, Sunday School, Community Outreach and Sunday Coffee Hour. Within the DOK, Diocese of Hawaii, our Chapter has helped to coordinate Fall and Spring Assemblies, attended Triennials in Austin, TX and Baltimore, MD, and are about to participate in a Province VIII Spring Workshop in Phoenix, AZ. Our Chapter meets twice monthly. The Chapter Meeting on the second Thursday of each month is In-Person at St. Timothy's Sumida Hall at 6pm. The meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month is by ZOOM at 6pm. Every Chapter Meeting is opened and closed with prayer and includes a Study (usually a book or the DOK National Study Guide with shared leadership), Business (National, Province VIII, DOK HI, Chapter), Prayer List Updates and Personal Sharing. We are happy to share our vision as Daughters of the King that, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we strive to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others and to become reflections of God's love throughout the world. Yours in Christ, For His Sake Adele J. Thomas President, DOK Kaikamahine-Aloha Chapter
